Yippee, Bryn Celynnog is happy to announce the start of a new exciting initiative called ‘The Pupil Engagement Programme’. Students have been given the opportunity to become involved in a fantastic and exciting new project where they are exposed to new experiences, links to local businesses and undertake activities; such as boxing, Karate, mountain biking, bouldering, fishing to name a few.
Last week things got under way when a group of pupils from year 7 to year 11 visited a local gym to start training with professional boxing coach Darren Wilson. Darren said “ This is a fantastic programme for kids to get involved with. They learn discipline, control, they improve their level of fitness and hopefully they will enjoy it too. It is a unique opportunity for youngsters to let off some steam. I just wish this had been around when I was in school. Bryn Celynnog should be praised for creative thinking and allowing the youngest to gain valuable life experience. It what school should be”.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Darren Wilson and Sensei Rob for helping with this start of the Engagement Programme. If you want to see the latest photos / videos on social media follow @BrynTech
